The La Villa de Teguise market celebrated 30 years of history this Sunday. The different squares and streets of the town, through which the market runs, were filled with color, music and tradition to commemorate the anniversary. There were parades and interactive workshops of crafts and Canarian cuisine and the highlight was a large cake that recreated the different spaces of the market.
The artisans, accompanied by the Councilor for Commerce and Market, Lourdes Cabrera, sang happy birthday and blew out the candles wishing to meet new and greater challenges. But the celebration does not end here, since, according to Cabrera, "every Sunday in March" there will be "recreational and cultural activities for all the families who visit us every Sunday."
One of them will take place on Sunday, March 29. This is the first Rapid Painting Contest on the Teguise market, whose rules for participating in the contest are already published on the web municipal. All interested parties can register in the entry register of the City Council from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Cabrera has expressed her gratitude "to all those who have made this celebration possible." "They are the ones who motivate us to continue growing and working for the benefit of the men and women who fill the streets and squares of the La Villa de Teguise market with their street stalls every Sunday," said the mayor.
