The facilities of the new CEO of Playa Blanca have been inaugurated this Thursday with the return to school and after four years since the first stone was laid.

Specifically, the works of the CEO of Playa Blanca started in the autumn of 2017 and had an execution period of about two years. However, the works were accumulating delays and finally the center has not been able to open until this course 2021/2022, which has started this September 9.

At the opening of the center, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Education, Silvia Santana, were present this Thursday.

Thousands of children have returned to classrooms throughout the island, in a start of the course that, again, has been marked by the pandemic. And the fact is that masks, hydroalcoholic gels and safety distances will continue to be part of the daily lives of schoolchildren.

Back to school in Arrecife

In Arrecife, more than 5,000 Infant and Primary school students have joined the new school year. To check in situ how this start was developing, the Councilor for Education, Saro González, visited the Nieves Toledo and Adolfo Topham centers first thing in the morning.

“Everything that children learn will make them better and wiser, and parents must share in the joy that it brings them to learn something more every day,” said the mayor during her visit. Likewise, the mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, wanted to wish students and teachers a happy start to the course.
