The Alcalde Rafael Cedrés School of Tías has been distinguished as an Ambassador Center of Save the Children "for its support of education in values and the defense of children's rights." The NGO presented this seal this Thursday morning, accrediting the largest public school in the municipality as a public educational center of reference throughout the Spanish State for its programs of active participation in solidarity campaigns to support children, especially in underdeveloped countries.

Nieves García, from the Education Department of Save the Children, was present at the presentation of this accreditation plaque to the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, where more than 700 students attend, a distinction that it has received in this 2018 coinciding with its 40th anniversary. The event, held in the school's classrooms, was attended by the Councilor for Education of the Tías City Council, Aroa Pérez, the director of the CEIP, David García, and a representation of its students.

From the City Council, they highlight that, for eleven consecutive years, this infant and primary school in Tías has been actively participating in programs to highlight the importance of education in values and the defense of children's rights. Now, since 2018, the Alcalde Rafael Cedrés School of Tías is part of the more than 200 educational centers in Spain that are ambassadors of Save the Children. In these weeks, the center has developed educational work with its students on the situation and childhood in Sudan, and they promote solidarity races.
