The effects of the fires that are occurring in Canada are slowly reaching Spain. After its arrival in Andalusia, in cities such as Málaga and Huelva, it has also been seen in the air quality of Galicia, Madrid, and several points in the country. And this Wednesday, the smoke and ashes from the fires will change the air quality of the Canary Islands, worsening it along with the haze that will be present in the Archipelago.
According to the Copernicus system, in charge of monitoring air quality, an extensive column of smoke will affect the islands' weather, due to the displacement of air currents. Although, the Government of the Canary Islands, from the Air Control and Surveillance Network, has advanced that "the affectation in Lanzarote and La Graciosa will not be much" due to its mixture "with the haze".
They also convey that it will be reflected in the form of "atmospheric pollution", adding that "in principle we are not seeing anything remarkable, because when combined with haze, it will be a "normal" atmospheric phenomenon." "Anyway, there is still concern," they conclude.
