"The island of volcanoes welcomes the most peculiar and avant-garde diva of the national music scene." This is how the Cabildo presents Martirio's performance, who will offer a concert next Thursday the 11th, at the Arrecife Island Theater. She will sing duets with Raúl Rodríguez in an acoustic concert. The Andalusian will thus inaugurate the autumn cultural program in Lanzarote.
"Stages around half the world have surrendered at the feet of the great diva with sunglasses, mantilla and hair comb. Behind her groundbreaking and very personal image, 'hides' a live performance as surprising as it is heartbreaking," says the Cabildo about the artist, who sings from tangos to boleros, Cuban songs, coplas, jazz and blues.
"And she does it adding her talent to the fullest, with her deep and controlled voice, without stridency. She has personality and sympathy everywhere. An almost enviable magic, because her song is intimate. The one that penetrates the flesh very deeply," says the first institution through a statement. "This Andalusian is the Madonna of Spanish song," says the Cabildo's press release.
The concert is organized by the Education and Culture area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote. Tickets can be purchased at the offices of said area, on the -1 floor of the Cabildo, and at the box office of the Insular Theater, from one hour before the concert. Its price is 15 euros.
