Passengers who flew from Lanzarote to Madrid with Iberia and Ryanair this Thursday have conveyed their complaints to La Voz about the delays they suffered on both flights, which in the case of the first company reached nine hours.
From Aena they have confirmed that there was a "coincidence" that the two flights to the capital of Spain suffered "problems". In the case of Iberia, they have indicated that it was apparently due to a breakdown, in the case of the Ryanair plane, the company indicates that "the flight on October 26 from Lanzarote to Madrid was delayed due to a minor technical problem with the plane. To minimize the delay, passengers boarded a replacement plane that took off for Madrid. Ryanair offers its sincere apologies to all customers affected by this delay. Ryanair engineers fixed the fault and the plane is back in operation this morning."
"We are experiencing a delay on a flight from Lanzarote to Madrid since 1:30 p.m. that should have departed, until now that it is 9:45 p.m. and we are still here waiting," a passenger informed La Voz, who was traveling with Iberia and pointed out that the situation was "desperate". People who were flying on the Ryanair flight also conveyed their complaints when they saw that it was not taking off at 5:30 p.m. as planned.
From Aena they have stated that both flights ended up departing "without affecting the operability" of the rest, although they have not confirmed the time. However, travelers have indicated that the Ryanair flight departed at 8 p.m., two and a half hours later than planned, and that the Iberia flight did not do so until after ten o'clock at night, with the delay reaching nine hours.
