Neurologist Pablo Eguia del Río, who has been practicing in Lanzarote for years, has just been elected Member of the Communication Area of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN), a scientific society made up of more than 3,000 members, including the vast majority of Spanish neurologists and other health professionals interested in neurology. As head of the SEN's Communication Area, he will define and coordinate the social promotion strategies of the specialty, direct the pages on communication of the website, as well as the activities of the SEN's Press Office.
Dr. Pablo Eguia currently serves as Head of Neurology at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote. He is a specialist in Family Medicine and Neurology. He has developed his work in different levels of care: Primary Care, Hospital Emergency and Neurology. He holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country and has completed the Management and Innovation program in the health sector at IE Business School.
He has been President of the Canary Society of Neurology since November 2016. He has been a member of the SEN since 2004 and is a member of the Study Groups on Demyelinating Diseases and Headaches. He is the author of several publications in international journals, communications to congresses and chapters in Neurology books. He has a special interest in clinical management, leadership and communication.
His appointment has just become effective once the voting period has ended - after the celebration of the Extraordinary General Assembly at the SEN Annual Meeting - and the resolution of the mandatory electoral process.
