The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, has expressed her satisfaction with the low incidence of covid infections in schools, since according to the latest data, obtained from Education, in Lanzarote there are 45 infected out of a total of 25,042 students, which represents an incidence of 0.17%.
The measures to fight against the pandemic, which impose a preventive confinement for those who have been in close contact with those affected, mean that the total number of students in quarantine is 286.
For their part, within the teaching staff, eight positives have been detected, with 22 teachers having to undergo quarantine.
"Schools in Lanzarote are resisting covid," said the president, who encouraged the educational community to persevere in control measures, which are essential until mass vaccination generates group immunity.
"The educational community has made an enormous effort that deserves our recognition. To this day, the centers have managed to greatly limit the transmission of the coronavirus thanks to the exemplary behavior of the students, the education staff and the families," the president concluded.
