The César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote has resumed its operational activity at noon this Monday after having to stop arrivals due to the haze. This has been confirmed by Aena sources to La Voz.
In total, a total of 12 flights that had their landing scheduled in Lanzarote had to be diverted to Fuerteventura. Of these, some departed from international origins such as Leeds, Birmingham or Dublin, but also from national origins such as Madrid, Gran Canaria or Tenerife.
The weather situation in Lanzarote, affected by a dense haze and fog, forced the diversion of some flights first and then the stoppage of arrival operations until visibility improved. The island remains this Monday on yellow alert for haze and pre-alert for storm, wind, haze, waves and heat.
According to Aena on its website, dozens of flights continue to be affected by this paralysis of the airport, with canceled or delayed departures.
