The meteorological situation in Lanzarote, affected by dense haze and haze, forces the operation at the César Manrique Airport to be paralyzed after diverting several flights to Fuerteventura. At the moment, it is not possible to know how many journeys will be affected by this situation, as confirmed by Aena to La Voz.

So far, four flights had been diverted to Fuerteventura Airport. Specifically, these are three international crossings from Dublin, Birmingham and Leeds. In addition, a fourth flight from Madrid.

The flight from Dublin, from the low-cost airline Ryanair, was scheduled to land at 10:40 am at the César Manrique Airport but ended up landing after 11:00 am in the neighboring island. The same has happened with the one from Birmingham, operated by Tui Airways, which landed at 11:15 am in El Matorral.

So far, other flights from Nottingham, Gran Canaria and Tenerife continue in the airspace waiting for indications to know if they will be able to land in Lanzarote or will also have to be diverted.

The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands warns of "an unstable meteorological situation" in the archipelago environment that includes wind, high temperatures, haze and possible unusual storms from Africa.
