After the arrival in Lanzarote of the Prince and Princess of Asturias and their firstborn, Infanta Leonor, this Tuesday has been described as a "historic day" by several state representatives: today it has been possible to take the first official photos of the couple on vacation since their departure from the Rúber Internacional Clinic in Madrid, after the birth of little Leonor last October 31. These are the first vacations of the future heir to the throne, for which her parents have chosen a Biosphere Reserve such as Lanzarote.

The couple posed kindly outside the royal residence of La Mareta, next to the pool and the garden area. At a quarter to twelve, the Princes went out dressed in casual clothes to receive the graphic media and attended to them for about fifteen minutes.

More than one of the curious people who were crowding at the gates of La Mareta claimed to have seen little Leonor open her eyes on more than one occasion. The Princes even wanted the reporters to see their daughter's eyes clearly.

New Year's Eve with family

Don Felipe assured journalists that they will spend the end of the year with the family. Their return to the Peninsula is scheduled for next December 31. What is a mystery is the agenda of activities that the couple will follow from now until next Friday, since as they decide what they are going to do these days on their private visit, they are communicating it to the Security Forces and their own entourage.

The Prince said he was delighted to spend a few days in a place that brings back family memories, among which he mentioned the death of his grandmother.

What has not gone down well with the local media is that some of the 35 journalists accredited for the event, precisely those from the national media, were allowed inside La Mareta.

As is known, the Prince and Princess of Asturias and their daughter [landed->http://www.lavozdelanzarote.com/article.php3?id_article=4418] at about half past one this Monday afternoon at Lanzarote Airport, an island where they will spend the Christmas holidays until next December 31. After arriving on a regular flight of the Spanair company, the Prince himself could be seen driving a car at the entrance to the royal house of La Mareta.
