18 young people continue working on the recovery of the Casa Mayor Guerra, in the municipality of San Bartolomé. This Friday, the volunteers have received a diploma from the mayor, Marcial Martín, the councilor for Youth, Dolores Corujo, and the councilor for the Environment, Aurea de Mauri, who have thanked the young people for their participation, and collaboration, wishing them a good stay on the Island.

These 18 participants, between 18 and 30 years old, and from various points of the Spanish geography (Andalusia, Madrid, Tenerife, Valencia, Murcia, Castilla la Mancha, Euskadi, Asturias, Catalonia, Castilla y León) are working on the landscape recovery of the surroundings of the Casa Mayor Guerra since last July 16, and their work will end next Monday. During the working days, they have had the help of a foreman, a gardener, several monitors and drivers.

The project included theoretical classes where they have acquired the basic knowledge to develop the task. After this first preparation, the young people have carried out the preparation of the soil, the distribution of trees and plants, the planning of irrigation and the fertilization of the soil.

The participants have also been able to enjoy numerous complementary activities, such as several visits to La Geria, the Salinas del Janubio, the Volcán de la Corona, Los Ajaches, the Timanfaya National Park, Teguise, the César Manrique Foundation or the Emigrant Museum.
