With humble beginnings and a lot of initiative and experience behind her, Berta Herrero has shared in an interview with Techy Acosta, on Radio Lanzarote's Más de Uno program, her recommendations for young women facing the challenge of fulfilling their dreams from an ultra-peripheral island like Lanzarote.
Born in Ávila and a Lanzarote native by adoption since the age of 7, the young woman has managed to stand out in the world of communication and international leadership in a short period of time.
Although her university education focused on journalism, she ended up entering the field of European institutions. Berta is currently director of the School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age, a Huawei project, where she is responsible for promoting female leadership.
During her journalistic career, she was a correspondent in Amsterdam and special envoy to North Korea for El Mundo. She landed in Brussels in the Cabinet of the former Vice President of the European Parliament and for Huawei she was in charge of managing the company's European affairs and dialogue with the institutions as Senior Public Affairs of Huawei for the European Union.
"Young people need mentors to explain to them how to turn their concerns into job opportunities," Berta Herrero insisted during the interview.
