More than 2,000 people gathered last Saturday on the beach of the town of Playa Blanca. The reason was the performance of El Vega Life, which brought an end to the Youth Week of Yaiza. This program of events for the youngest had an "important participation", the southern Consistory has pointed out. The group Sentimiento con Arte also performed that same day and, from the morning, there were activities such as the extreme sports championship, with disciplines such as skate, bmx and scooter, which was attended by half a hundred young people.
In addition, after these activities, a parade was carried out with the Yaiceros and Cumbacheros troupes, announcing the concert. The day before, on Friday, the II Fajín Canarian wrestling championship took place, in which Cristo Betancort was proclaimed as the best youth wrestler on the island. Sport then continued to be present, with the indoor soccer tournament, aerobox exhibitions, total training, brezilian jiu jitsu and kick boxing.
The previous Wednesday had already begun with the concert days, with the group Ciempiés ni Cabeza in the El Pueblo Shopping Center, which also had a good reception.
In addition to showing its "satisfaction" for the development of the week, the Department of Youth of the Yaiza City Council has highlighted the important participation of young people in it and has thanked Club Mencey, Coca Cola, Hiperdino and CC El Pueblo for their collaboration.
