Tax agents of the Civil Guard who provide their services in the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have arrested the three members of a network that operated between the Islands trading drugs, mainly hashish. The individuals were located when they were caught trying to introduce 42 kilos of this substance hidden in different parts of a vehicle.
The detainees are all men: J.V.L. 52 years old, J.H.R. 53 years old, both residents of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and B.Y. 28 years old and of Moroccan nationality and residence.
The operation began on January 25, when agents intercepted the vehicle during a surveillance service on the inter-island passenger lines, at the disembarkation of a ship coming from Lanzarote. At the time of requesting documentation from the two occupants of the car, he flees the place towards the exit of the dock.
This fact led to the suspicion that the vehicle was transporting drugs or another illicit substance, so the fugitive was arrested and the car was searched. The drug was found behind the decorative panels of the doors, under a seat, as well as in the engine compartments, where a total of 210 hashish pills were found, with a total weight of 42 kilograms.
The investigations allowed the arrest on January 28 of a third person who was traveling with the first detainees, but who had disembarked on foot. In addition, it continues in the search for other people involved in receiving the drug.
