The Haría City Council, through the Department of Health directed by Marcos Lemes, has reopened the natural pools of El Pichón and El Cura in the town of Punta Mujeres this Wednesday, February 21.

Just a week ago, the northern Consistory decreed the prohibition of bathing in this area of the coast due to the discharges of fecal water that had been detected. Now, after the latest water analyzes carried out by Public Health, it is determined that "there are no longer traces of wastewater in these natural pools, so they are reopened for bathing."

From the town hall, the company responsible for water purification and the competent authorities are once again urged to put a "definitive solution" to these discharges that are causing "so many problems, not only to the residents of the area, but also to the environment."

The northern government group demands that the "hydraulic infrastructures" that exist in the area be "reviewed" to "avoid a new episode that puts the health of bathers and the image of one of the most visited bathing areas in the north of Lanzarote at risk", he concludes.
