The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident last Saturday, the 9th at night, in which a young 30-year-old Civil Guard died, tested positive in the breathalyzer test, with more than three times the permitted alcohol level. There were three other people traveling in the car, which ran off the road and crashed into a palm tree.

As a result of the accident, one of the occupants died and the other three were admitted to the José Molina Hospital. The young woman who was traveling in the passenger seat has had her spleen removed and the other occupant has leg injuries. The driver was discharged from the hospital although she is in a state of shock, according to sources consulted by ACN Press.

The deceased was a Civil Guard officer stationed in Lanzarote and was celebrating his transfer to Gran Canaria. Both the driver and the other occupant are also Civil Guard officers stationed in Lanzarote.

The accident occurred last Saturday, the 9th at night, on the LZ-2. The occupants of the vehicle were returning from Arrecife and the car ran off the road at the entrance to El Cable, crashing into a palm tree. The deceased was traveling in the back seat with another colleague and they were not wearing seat belts.
