After several days of truce, the burning of vehicles and containers has returned to the capital of Lanzarote. Firefighters had to extinguish the fire of a vehicle and six containers in various locations in Arrecife in the early hours of this Monday.

Alerted by the CECOES at around 04:03, the Security and Emergency Consortium went to Claudio Toledo Cabrera street to extinguish a fire that affected the interior of a car. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers opened the left door of the vehicle, since it was the only one that was not locked with insurance and proceeded to put out the flames. Due to the low air supply, the combustion was slow and with little flame, but finally the entire interior, especially the seats, were destroyed.

Two hours later, at around 06:08 in the morning, firefighters were notified of another fire in Julio Cortázar street in Arrecife. This time it was a container of organic waste that had been destroyed by the flames and another container of cardboard recycling, mainly damaged in the outer area.

However, before being able to extinguish it, the National Police informed the Consortium of a third fire on the dirt road from Argana to the cemetery, at around 06:21 hours, so they went to it to check the severity of the situation. Upon arrival, they observed that the fire affected four containers that were unusable. After extinguishing it, they returned to the previous fire to finish extinguishing the flames and ended the service.

The Local Police also went to the first location, the National Police to the second and both security forces to the last fire.
