The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Tías and the Local Police of Tías have carried out a joint operation to prevent criminal acts in Puerto del Carmen, during the night from last Saturday to Sunday.

The surveillance focused on nightlife venues and recreation areas, identifying a total of 83 people and about 40 vehicles controlled.

According to a police note, as a result of this joint operation, the Moroccan H.N. was arrested in possession of four sachets of cocaine ready for sale, and his Moroccan compatriot M.D.A., 31 years old, after hitting a Mauritanian woman with a glass inside a leisure venue, having to be reduced by four civil guards due to his extreme violence.

Another detainee turned out to be the Senegalese S.K., 36 years old, after discovering inside his vehicle the amount of 190 sunglasses and 43 counterfeit watches, merchandise that was destined for illegal sale.

The young R.J.A. was also arrested. 20 years old, native and resident of Arrecife, when he was driving his all-terrain vehicle recklessly through the streets of Puerto del Carmen, testing positive for alcohol in breathalyzer tests.

These actions correspond to a series of joint services carried out by the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Tías in the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen. The previous weekend, both police forces arrested seven foreigners for various crimes along with 200 people identified and 78 vehicles inspected.
