Agents of the National Police Corps attached to the Superior Headquarters of Police of the Canary Islands have recently completed, within the framework of the "Píldora" operation, an operation against drug trafficking in Arrecife in which a father and son dedicated to the introduction and sale of various drugs on the Island have been arrested.

The prevention and surveillance work carried out by the Narcotics Group of the Arrecife National Police Corps Station bore fruit when four months ago it became known that an individual, native to the Island, named Saúl H. M., 24 years old and with no criminal record, was engaged in the distribution of significant amounts of cocaine and ecstasy pills.

The agents organized a police device that allowed to verify that said individual frequented the areas known as "black spots", places where these substances are trafficked, relating to other people, some of whom were already known by the same officials for having been arrested previously as small-scale traffickers (retail).

Likewise, it was possible to find out that during the past Christmas holidays, the aforementioned Saúl and his father, José Ángel H. R., 45 years old, native to Arrecife and with no criminal record, had obtained a significant amount of ecstasy pills in view of the demand for this type of substance, so they proceeded to carry out two home searches in which the agents, provided with the appropriate warrants, proceeded to seize different amounts of narcotics.

1,350 ecstasy pills, 68 grams of cocaine and 600 grams of hashish, as well as one thousand euros in cash, several telephones and very diverse documentation were seized. The aforementioned seized pills were of the type known as "James Bond" as they featured a relief with the inscription "007".

Both detainees, together with the instructed proceedings, were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which ordered the imprisonment of the aforementioned Saúl.
