The Haría Town Hall hosted this Sunday a meeting between representatives of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Security and Emergency Consortium and the northern Town Hall itself, in which it was decided to activate an action plan in response to the effects of the heavy rains that fell this Saturday, when up to 90 liters per square meter were recorded in some areas of the municipality, which is already considering requesting the declaration of a disaster area due to the damage caused.
Thus, the different administrations agreed to immediately initiate all necessary actions to alleviate the significant damage caused by the storm, as well as the use of machinery and various resources to proceed with the cleaning and refurbishment of public spaces and roads and facilitate access to homes affected by the floods.
Likewise, the northern Town Hall has decided to create a citizen service office so that all those people who have suffered damage to their agricultural properties can go and carry out an assessment of damage to them.
The most affected localities of the municipality this Saturday were Tabayesco, Punta Mujeres, Arrieta and Órzola, where between 60 and 90 liters per square meter fell, especially between 14:00 and 16:00 hours.
The Haría Town Hall reminds that the closure of all municipal sports and cultural facilities is maintained this Sunday, as well as the suspension of activities planned outdoors on public roads and facilities.
