Officers of the Local Police of Tías arrested J.M.B.F., a native of Arrecife, 36 years old, in the early hours of September 23, accused of a crime of robbery with force in things committed in a tourist complex in Puerto del Carmen.
The events, according to a police note, occurred before an anonymous call was received at the police station alerting of the suspicious presence of an individual in an area of the villas of Puerto del Carmen, where the detainee was located and identified by the agents.
They found in his possession a mobile phone, a watch and sunglasses, which after the appropriate steps could be verified that they were the result of a robbery committed in an apartment complex near the place where they found the individual.
The aforementioned would have forced the door of a terrace and stolen numerous objects owned by tourists who occupied the apartment, including a CD player, an MP3, about 20 DVDs, several music CDs, several items of brand clothing, sunglasses, mobile phones, a watch, etc., all valued at about 1,600 euros.
The objects were recovered by the agents in the vicinity of the robbery site, where the individual had hidden them for later collection.
That same morning the Local Police of Tías arrested a driver who was driving recklessly and at high speed along the Avenida de Las Playas de Puerto del Carmen, causing a clear risk to other road users.
After being stopped by the agents, the driver fled, initiating a chase through several streets of the town, being intercepted and identified as O.M.R., a native of Colombia, 34 years old, who refused to take the breathalyzer tests before the police request, so he was arrested accused of a crime against traffic safety and another of serious disobedience to the agents of the Authority.
