Mule arrested at Lanzarote airport

Agents of the National Police arrested a 33-year-old man from Guinea Bissau with no police record at the César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote. He arrived at the Lanzarote airport on a flight from Gran Canaria with a total of 100 pellets in his body, weighing 1,170 grams of high-purity cocaine.

The National Police explain that it was on February 28 when the arrested man was intercepted. After undergoing the appropriate radiological tests, it was determined that he had a large number of foreign bodies in his body, so he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.

After the appropriate police procedures were completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of Arrecife, which ordered his immediate imprisonment.

The National Police, in its mission to prosecute crimes related to drug trafficking and due to the increase in people arrested in recent months trying to introduce narcotic substances through the aerodrome, is carrying out different prevention devices in the terminal, with the mission of preventing the introduction of these substances on the island. With this mule, there are already seven detainees so far this year.
