Fecal water and eggs on his facade. This is what Mostapha El Hammouti, a resident of Arrecife, claims to have found on several occasions at the door of his house, located on Agustín Ayala Street. According to him, a neighbor has been making his "life impossible for two years." Proof of this is four complaints filed with the National Police and the Local Police of Arrecife. In fact, he says that he has been summoned for a trial to be held in January, as a result of one of these complaints.
The story, as he himself tells it, goes back two years, when Mostapha, as president of the neighborhood association, refused to make some repairs to the home of an owner. "I told her that she had to go to the Board and that with the 6 euros we pay, it wasn't enough," says Mostapha.
Then, "the insults" towards him and his family began. And not only that, but also, according to Mostapha and as stated in the complaints filed with the National Police and the Local Police of Arrecife, his neighbor began to throw "fecal water at the door" of his house. A fact that, according to him, has been repeated on several occasions since then.
However, despite the fact that Mostapha claims to have been living this situation for two years, it was in January when he finally decided to report it since, according to him, he has tried to "talk on several occasions" with his neighbor, but she only "insults" him. It was then that he filed two complaints, one with the National Police and the other with the Local Police, in January of this year. Later, there were two more, one in July and another just a few days ago, on August 4.
In them, he claims that his neighbor throws "water with excrement against his house" and that she utters "insults" such as "shitty Moors, I'm going to kick you out of your house", in addition to others alluding to his two minor children. Also, according to one of the complaints, "the neighbor takes photos of his children while the children are playing in the street, not knowing the intention with which she does it." In addition, in the last complaint, filed on August 4, he claims that the neighbor threw eggs at the facade of his house.
The City Council "has done nothing"
This situation, says the complainant, endangers "the health" of his eleven-year-old son, who suffers from hemophilia. And, therefore, he has also repeatedly gone to the Arrecife City Council so that, through the Department of Health, they could remedy this situation. However, according to him, "they have done nothing."
In this sense, Mostapha explains, the City Council "has filed" the complaints because they "do not believe" the word of the affected party. They asked him to "record his neighbor" at the time of committing the acts for which she has been reported but, says Mostapha, "they have not done anything either." "They sent me to a veterinarian who said that the water she was throwing at me was dishwater and that it was a personal problem and we had to fix it ourselves," he says. "The City Council is not acting as it should, because they are responsible witnesses to what is happening to me," he adds.
Mostapha just wants to end this situation and for his neighbor to "leave him alone." "If I respect her space, let her respect mine. This woman has been crushing us for two years and continues to do her thing," he laments.
