A fire has occurred this Thursday when, while trying to get rid of some rubble, in a vacant lot in the capital area of San Francisco Javier, the flames spread and affected two abandoned vehicles, which were located in the vicinity of the place where the rubble was being burned.
The alert was raised at about two in the afternoon, this Thursday, although the flames were controlled in a few minutes, thanks to the speed with which the emergency teams acted.
Most common incidents
This type of incidents, related to the burning of garbage or containers, are the alarms that are most received in the fire station of the Cabildo. Of the almost 500 fires registered on the Island last year, more than half end up being minor matters, such as a container or garbage on fire. 310 incidents of this type occurred the previous year, which means that every day, on average, the emergency center receives 1.5 alerts of this type.
Until last April, this figure increases even more, since the firefighters carried out an average of 2 daily services for fires in containers or garbage. Specifically, 77 are the events of this type registered until last month, of the 158 fires that occurred, although in this case the flames have caused greater damage, by spreading to these two nearby vehicles.
