Several neighbors have been evacuated from their homes, after a house in Playa Honda caught fire, which has been "completely burned", according to firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote.
The fire broke out in a house on Anzuelo Street at around 4:00 p.m. Luckily, no health care has been required, since no one has been injured.
From 112 they have indicated to La Voz that after receiving the alert, they have been informed that there was no one inside the houses, that the neighbors were already in the street and that the presence of the paramedics of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) was not required.
The fire started in the living room
Firefighters believe the fire broke out in a power strip in the living room of the house, which has been totally affected.
In the apartment adjacent to the one affected by the fire, firefighters located a fine crack. Thus, they asked the owner of the house if it was already there before the fire and he replied that it was the first time he had seen it. The rest of the apartments did not show any damage to the naked eye.
The Consortium agents cut off the electricity and water from the boxes they had in the community for safety. After ventilating the house, they warned the owner that pieces of the ceiling could come off and, after that, they ended the service.
