The musical show 'Ellas' swept the municipal theater of Tías last Saturday night. 'Ellas', an idea and production by Elvia Plata that also had the contribution of great singers from the island who participated in the show.
It is a musical made in Lanzarote by women and men from Lanzarote, because also, women and men, together managed to realize their objectives by bringing to the stage great songs sung by great women, a legacy that these women have left for future generations that has been so important, since it extends not only to the musical field but also to the professional and sociocultural. Women who have had to fight hard to achieve public representation such as Rocío Jurado, Paloma San Basilio, Pastora Soler, Alaska, Luz Casal, Rosana, Pasión Vega or Rocío Dúrcal, among many others.
Many of their songs are part of the anthological repertoire of national and international music such as Te dejé marchar, A quién le importa, Quiéreme siempre, La gata bajo la lluvia, No controles or Como yo te amo. These others were performed by the 6 women from Lanzarote who are part of the 'Ellas' project, with musical arrangements adapted to their vocal ranges by a great professional such as Fran Mauri, in charge of the musical direction who more than succeeded in getting the sisters Gloría and Inma Sepúlveda, Nilsa Álvarez, Beni Ferrer, Sara Bermúdez and Elvia Plata to give their best with very tuned registers in their voices in each of their interventions. The public, very dedicated, hummed each of the songs at the same time as they applauded them.
The musical accompaniment was endorsed by 4 great professionals such as Acorán Ramos on bass, Adrián Niz on guitar, Alex Jiménez on percussion, Fran Mauri on piano and musical direction. In addition, it had an impeccable staging where the lighting, the only decorative element, enveloped each of the participating singers, very elegant with dresses suitable for a show.
And like everything that has a beginning also has an end, but this was an apotheosic end to the rhythm of the song written by Nacho Cano for the group 'Olé, Olé', 'No Controles', where the public from the stalls accompanied singing and dancing.
