In keeping with tradition, with the arrival of the second Sunday of Advent, the Nativity Scene is inaugurated in the church of Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria, in Tías.
At 6:00 p.m. the Eucharist began, presided over by the parish priest of the municipality, Adrián Sosa Nuez, a special celebration that begins with the blessing of the Nativity Scene, an artisan work made by the neighbor Lázaro Martín and family, a tradition that he has been developing for many years with great care so that the spirit of Christmas continues to live on.
Lázaro Martín recreates a nativity scene on a small scale where no detail is missing, dedicating many hours to achieve results that are highly commented on by the public who come to visit it until January 6.
The Nativity Scene is inspired by the Lanzarote landscape, where visitors can observe the farmer threshing in the era, the salt worker in the salt flats, the winegrower in his winery and the shepherd taking care of his flock and highlighting, without a doubt, the stable with the manger and inside the images of the Virgin, Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus.
The Nativity Scene can be visited until January 6, the feast of the Epiphany. The parish priest congratulated Lázaro and his family for the creation of the nativity scene, encouraging him to continue and thus maintain a tradition of so many years in the municipality of Tías.
