The timple player from Gran Canaria, Germán López, accompanied by the guitarist from Cadiz, Antonio Toledo, presented his latest record work "Canela y Limón" last Sunday at 12:00 hours in the exhibition hall of the Casa-Museo del Timple in Teguise.
"Canela y Limón" is the fourth solo album that Germán López has to his credit and in which he has many collaborations with other musicians. López's followers know very well that in each of his recordings he risks to the maximum in his compositions, finally achieving his objectives and giving them very novel and avant-garde airs. This is how each of the 11 songs he presents in this latest work are.
The freshness of his compositions are already known, but for these new ones he had a prestigious guitarist who lives music in all its facets. Thus, they have managed to make such disparate themes sound like a Tajaraste for bulerías, a polcaflamenca or Imaginando Folías and so on until completing the number of eleven, where some flamenco styles are also very present.
Germán López and Antonio Toledo have taken this recording in concert to different countries such as Portugal, Cape Verde, Croatia, Canada and the United States. From now on it is time to present it on the islands such as Lanzarote, which will be followed by Fuerteventura, Tenerife, La Palma etc.
The public that attended the Casa-Museo, among whom were also the Councilor for Culture, Heritage and Festivities, Olivia Duque, and the Councilor for Agriculture Agustín Méndez; were pleasantly surprised by the innovative musical content and the complicity of the musicians in each of the compositions carried out during the concert.
