The celebration of the Caleta de Famara festivities has passed as "one of the quietest in recent years." This has been revealed by Civil Guard sources to La Voz. However, the Teguise Local Police have arrested some people for possession of narcotics, another for carrying a knife, as well as people for disturbing public order for being intoxicated. Likewise, they have also intervened in clandestine parties with up to 60 people.

"In all cases, control of the situation has been maintained without any problem," said the Councilor for the Local Police, Ginés González, in a press release. At the same time, he insisted that "the coordinated action and the large number of personnel deployed to the area allowed any serious incident to be dissipated."

The Teguise City Council has reported that the days passed "within normality and with an influx that filled the capacity of the pier esplanade."

Prior to the celebrations planned for this weekend, a meeting was already being held on Friday morning between the Local Police of Teguise and members of the Canarian Police to determine details of the security plan, which had previously been outlined with the Civil Guard, as well as the location of the advanced command post (PMA) and other details of access roads or parking areas.

"In total, we have had a large security deployment, which, between Civil Protection, Emerlan, and more than 30 agents from different bodies, has helped to minimize risks," González specified.

Likewise, the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Díaz, has highlighted the civic behavior with which the most crowded events have passed "and the know-how of the attendees, knowing how to respect the schedules set by the City Council for the completion of the festivals, thus guaranteeing the rest of the residents of the town."
