The pianist from Lanzarote, Ernesto Alemán, lives for music and composition, which has been his passion since he was very young. Specialized in piano, but also in timple, one of the instruments he played at the age of seven. He has carried music with him from a very early age.
He has had the pleasure of learning to play several instruments. He reveals to La Voz that he opted for the piano "advised" by his mother, although he preferred the violin. He admits that after practicing with the piano, he became "very fond" of it.
He studied 'Higher Piano Education' in Tenerife at the age of 18, a title equivalent to a university degree. Afterwards, he did a two-year master's degree in Poland, specializing in 'Classical Piano Interpretation'. He has continued his training until this year, specifically, last July, when he finished his composition studies.
Artistic creations with which he has played in Lanzarote and also in the rest of the Archipelago. In the 'Symphonic Gardens Cycle' organized by 'ROFE' in Arrecife, in Gran Canaria, Tenerife or La Palma. Thirty are the compositions that the pianist can boast of, highlighting his "piano sonata" and his "symphonies", in addition to the relevance of the concert he will give this weekend. He describes the event as "the greatest work" he has had so far.
Creating feeling through his music
What he is most passionate about composing is "being able to communicate" to the public and that each spectator can "perceive in infinite ways" what he wants to convey. "It is something stimulating that people who come to my concerts let themselves go and imagine", he highlighted.
He always returns home satisfied when people "approach his dressing room" after a concert to tell him the "emotions they have felt" when listening to his compositions, he acknowledges. What he highlights most about the power of music is that "it makes you get into your own thoughts", he adds.
A profession that he takes with a lot of discipline, rehearsal and challenge. To be able to dedicate oneself to music, one must "be in good physical and mental shape, transmit and seek emotion", he points out as keys to stand out in that world. This concert has been conceived as a "challenge" due to a matter of time. "It took me more than a month to finish it", he acknowledges, referring to the composition.
A great work due to the demands of the piece, in which he had to conform 100%. "I have written the scores for all the musicians", he revealed. In addition, he is the creator of his solo on the piano. A dramatic, passionate, melodic and then dynamic creation, which goes through various phases to "maintain the attention of the public", he adds.

He also highlights the crucial intervention of the orchestra conductor. A key figure in the concert who must "understand communication at a musical level to convey the information correctly to the instrumentalists", he points out. Furthermore, according to him, the conductor is the "first person in charge of accompanying the soloist and acting as an intermediary between him and the members of the orchestra".
Currently, he is living in Oviedo and dedicated to "composing and playing". But with a lot of work throughout Canary Islands, without forgetting to develop his professional career also in the Peninsula. His upcoming dates include the concert on December 8 in Puerto de la Cruz and some of the surprises he has prepared for Lanzarote. "The event has not yet been confirmed, but I will return to the island", he concluded. In addition, he is immersed in a novel project, in which he "gives life to the music for a film short", he revealed.
His debut as a soloist
He will perform as a soloist in the 'Lanzarote Ensemble' concert next Saturday, November 18 at the 'El Salinero' Theater. A concert that will be divided into two parts, the first with the symphonic poem 'The Twilight of the Gods' by Richard Wagner, in which he will play with the company of musicians from the 'Lanzarote Ensemble' orchestra and the absolute premiere of the 'Piano Concerto No. 1', in which he will appear as a soloist sitting at the piano.
An orchestra that was formed in 2019 and is made up of 25 musicians, with special relevance for Lanzarote, with 85% of the components from the island. The members have diverse profiles: from professionals to students of Higher Education. "They have opted for musicians from the island to play in the concert", the pianist pointed out.

A work that will last an hour, will begin at 8:00 p.m. and has been specially commissioned for the 'Ensemble', with the addition that the composer "will be as a soloist", the pianist highlighted. The musician will be accompanied by the orchestra, which in turn will be directed by a conductor, who will act as a common thread between the two.
Special concert for Alemán, in which he has poured all the experience he has developed over the years. The tickets that "are still available", as he has made known to the newspaper, have a price of 10 euros and can be purchased through the section of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
