Calicanto performed last Sunday night at the San Ginés festivities, specifically on the stage set up on the banks of the Charco de San Ginés next to the House of Fear.
It is the first time that the musical group from Teguise has performed a concert at the Arrecife Port festivities and they did it in style. The members conquered the audience who applauded and hummed their songs throughout the concert. On this occasion, they offered a wide repertoire with a great variety of musical genres where there was no shortage of rancheras, boleros, ballads and the odd song with Canarian roots such as the one composed by the musician and timple player Benito Cabrera "Soy de Aquí" (I'm from Here), to which were added some folía and parrandera isa.
Vanessa Rijo is the musical director and Sara Bermúdez was in charge of adding a bit of history to each of the songs that were performed. The concert also featured the collaboration of colleagues Iván Luzardo, Toni Rodríguez and Acorán Ramos, always willing to lend a hand and ensure that the group exceeds its objectives.
For Calicanto it was a challenge to be able to perform at the festivities of the capital of Lanzarote and as soon as they received the invitation from the councillor for festivities, Encarna Páez, who was present at the event, they did not hesitate for a moment and went down from La Villa to the Port. Now they are very excited preparing a very special concert to celebrate the "X Anniversary" in style, with a new repertoire and the odd surprise.
