The heroin trafficker who was arrested on October 11 in Arrecife ratified this Wednesday before the First Section of the Provincial Court the agreement of conformity he reached with the Prosecutor's Office, by which he has accepted a sentence of three years in prison and a fine of 10,635 euros.

Thus, the Chamber will proceed to issue a judgment in the agreed terms, without the need to hold the trial and without the option of appeal, after the confession of the accused and the acceptance of the sentence.

The defendant was arrested while driving a car in the vicinity of Avenida de los Geranios in Arrecife. Initially, agents of the National Police stopped him when they saw that he was talking on his cell phone, but when inspecting the vehicle they found 12 bags of heroin in the driver's pockets and another 18 in the armrest of the door.

The agents then requested judicial authorization to search his home, located in Playa Honda, where they found several more bags and wrappers with heroin, which in total yielded a weight of 565.61 grams. According to the Prosecutor's Office's indictment, the drug would have had a market value of more than 10,000 euros.

In addition, 8,247 euros in cash, 781 grams of cutting substance and two precision scales, as well as two computers that were also seized and three passports from Guinea Bissau, were also found in the house.

After the police operation, the Investigating Court Number 4 of Arrecife ordered his admission to provisional prison, where he remained awaiting trial. Now, that time that he has already spent in prison will be deducted, until he serves the sentence he has accepted.
