The Wonder Experience platform will premiere in Lanzarote with the aim of becoming a global tool. Next Thursday, November 16, this application, which combines travel and games, will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa at 6:00 p.m. But, what is behind this space?
Wonder Experience is a platform designed for travelers. So a person can through it receive help to plan the route of their trip. The user starts by describing what type of journey they want to make and the app will offer four proposals: two affiliated sites and two tourist sites in the area.
In this sense there are four types of profiles: gastronomy, culture, beach or mountain. However, depending on the affiliates, new activities will be determined, such as, for example, diving.
For their part, companies can also publicize their business and be part of the visitors' itinerary. To do this, interested entities will have to pay eight euros per month and 15% of net income.
Currently, despite not having been presented yet, there is already a conejera company affiliated with Wonder Experience. This is the case of the local La Taberna de Nino, Bar Strava and Aqua Plus Spa of the Arrecife Gran Hotel. However, these spaces are not the only ones that are considering joining this app.
"Both Aránzazu and I have hired professionals, we know the tourism sector here on the island, we are going to launch both the traveler application and the affiliate application. It does not mean that it is only for Lanzarote, that is, we start here, but the idea is to install it nationwide soon," one of its creators, Diego Toribio, revealed to Ekonomus.
This application has been created by Diego Toribio, Manuel Alejandro Núñez, Alicia Hernández and Aránzazu Pérez.
"We have invested much more time than money, more than anything else, a lot of time. We are also with the commercial part, marketing on social networks, etcetera," explains Toribio.
While Pérez believes that "we would probably be talking about more than 50,000 euros if we had had to hire all the development profiles or all the design profiles."
This application offers the option of earning points with its use and then using them in other initiatives. In this case, they have signed an agreement with the Foresta Foundation, a Canary entity that is dedicated to reforesting trees throughout the Canary Archipelago and with whom they maintain an agreement to plant trees with the exchanged points. These trees would be planted in Gran Canaria or Tenerife, because now Foresta does not have a plantation in Lanzarote.
"If it depends on us, we would explore that collaboration with Cabildo. We would love it to be in Lanzarote, but we would have to assess how this would be, the agreement between the parties," adds Pérez. There will also be options to exchange these points for a spa or a kayak trip.
Beyond Lanzarote
The project does not intend to stay only in Lanzarote, but plans to land in other spaces. Among them, its promoters have already been contacted by the Bilbao Opera to participate in the application. However, they want to wait and see how it works on the island of volcanoes.
"All this will be seen depending on how it evolves. For us, logically, the faster we can expand, the better, but it will depend a little on the speed in getting financing as well, because to increase the team and to be able to expand," explained Aránzazu Pérez.
