The Agrotechnological Center of Teguise is preparing to host the 1st Agrotechnological and Livestock Fair organized by the Federation of Agricultural and Fisheries Associations Castillo de Teguise (FASAT), with the collaboration of the Department of Agriculture of the City Council and Cajasiete, which will take place from this Thursday, May 5 to Sunday, May 8.
The mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, pointed out in the presentation offered on Monday morning that "the primary sector will be the protagonist, since it is key in our landscape, idiosyncrasy, economy and island gastronomy", and he was proud that the agents involved have chosen Teguise for its celebration. "Our municipality is a leader in valuing all the people who work to offer a quality product," he defended.
The fair will open its doors on Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. with a guided tour of the facilities, and at 7:00 p.m. there will be a series of recognitions to the oldest people active in livestock, agriculture and fishing in the municipality.
The Councilor for Agriculture, Gerardo Rodríguez, explained that "among all the activities of the program, it is worth highlighting the visit of schoolchildren, different talks by professionals, folklore workshops and the cheese contest."
The president of FASAT, Omar Viña, thanked the Consistory for its contribution, "which allows us to continue positioning our products, while presenting ourselves to the entire society of Lanzarote, which will be able to put a face to all those who are part of the guild."
"The fair aims to be a must-attend event on the agenda of Teguise and Lanzarote, where, in addition to betting on our farmers, ranchers and fishermen, the value of associationism is highlighted, which has been decisive in the organization of these conferences," Betancort pointed out.
