With the aim of advancing towards the knowledge economy, the Canary Islands Agency for Research Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI) has undertaken a citizen information campaign on the lines of action of the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands. This project involves R&D&I centers and entities and the entire Canarian society.
To carry out the campaign, two promotional spots have been designed that are broadcast on television, on YouTube, on the website of the Government of the Canary Islands and on its social networks. The objective of the videos is to highlight the role of science and research in the historical transformations that the planet is currently experiencing, and the commitment of ACIISI to transfer it to Canarian society.
With this action, Canarias promotes an economy based on a new model that is based on building quality employment while having global access to new technologies, allowing the growth of the islands "without damaging their natural resources, using their singularities, a natural laboratory and strategic areas with the most advanced technology".
This content includes images, voice-over and interviews that show the variety of centers of excellence, cutting-edge projects and other resources that the islands have in terms of R&D&I, together with the Canary Islands Innovation Agency's own instruments to achieve the objectives of linking development and knowledge to the progress of the Canary Islands, with research, science, innovation and technology marking the sustainable future and the transformation of the economy. In addition, the material is made in a formative-educational tone and is adapted to all types of inclusive audiences.
The Agency is working with all sectors to make this new economy greener and more committed to the digital transformation based on four fundamental pillars: a new Science Law, a new R&D&I Plan, a Pact for Science with all the agents involved and a new Smart Specialization Strategy (S4) with a document open to the participation of the whole society.
ACIISI also promotes the conditions that will cause the change: the training of research personnel and the attraction and retention of talent; the provision of resources to the research centers of the Archipelago; the improvement of the competitiveness of companies, and the access of all citizens to new technologies and communication.
With campaigns like these, Canarias wants to build a more inclusive and egalitarian society for 2030 that has an advanced, sustainable and productive economy that is beginning to be a reality, for which it requires the sum of all citizens.
