"They painted the crosswalk and forgot the sidewalks"

A reader of La Voz reports that on the Rambla Islas Canarias, in Puerto del Carmen, at number 16, "there is a pseudo-crosswalk or a quasi-crosswalk".

"More than 5 years ago they painted a crosswalk in this direction, which I agree with because tourists, mothers with strollers and local residents pass by there. The curious thing is not that they paint it for the safety of the users, but that it is incomplete on one of its sides and in its median", criticizes the reader.

In this regard, he explains that the side of the road, which is unfinished, is full of "stones and other lumps that make it impassable and force pedestrians to walk along the curbs, which is dangerous because vehicles pass at high speed." "And if you add a baby carriage or a wheelchair to that, I won't even tell you," he adds.

The reader also reports that "to add insult to injury, once you pass the unfinished side sidewalk there is the median, which is made of rofe", so he points again to the difficulty of crossing it if you are with a stroller or wheelchair.

"Have the technicians of the City Council or the Local Police not seen and prepared a report?" he asks. "Or am I the only one who sees it? I think that deep down the City Council wants to turn those who pass or cross through this place into authentic Indiana Joneses," concludes the reader.
