A resident of Playa Honda has contacted La Voz to express his "outrage" that the City Council has started charging for "renting" the San Bartolomé picnic area for "a price of 270 euros."
According to this citizen, "when this picnic area started operating, it could be requested to hold a celebration at no cost," having to pay "only a deposit of 100 euros in case of any damage." "The deposit was returned if everything was correct.
However, he claims that when trying to rent the picnic area this year for his grandson's birthday celebration, he was met with the "surprise" that, since the beginning of the year, "it has a price of 270 euros," which he considers "an abuse."
"Seeing the prices of picnic areas in other municipalities on the island, which range between 50 and 75 euros, we find the cost they have set in San Bartolomé exorbitant," concludes this resident.
