A reader of La Voz denounces the celebration of parties that do not respect the anti-covid measures on the roof of a house on Coronel Bens street.
"I am contacting you because several residents of the Coronel Bens Street area are tired of the incivility and continuous attack on the anti-Covid regulations in which we are immersed. Not only due to problems derived from not being able to rest during normal hours for it, but also for putting the rest of the population at risk by holding these parties."
According to this citizen, "this weekend (although it has also happened on other occasions, even in the middle of confinement phases), neighbors of Coronel Bens street hold parties with more than 10 people, without masks and until 6 in the morning. These events took place on Friday, November 27 as well as Saturday, November 28."
A call was made to 112 on Friday at 4:00 in the morning and on Saturday at 00:30 hours, and after being referred to the Local Police of Arrecife, no assistance was provided by any agent nor was anything done. A complaint has been filed in the entry registry at the Arrecife City Council and throughout this day we will go to the National Police to see if measures are taken in this regard, since there are neighbors in the area who have elderly people in their care and cannot rest.
Finally, this resident of the capital points out that "there is the paradox that we, on a personal level, cannot enjoy Christmas with loved ones that we have in the peninsula and on other islands, but certain uncivil neighbors of Arrecife can hold parties with total impunity, with the music at full volume (including loud singing), all until practically dawn. It seems like a total absurdity to us."
