A reader of La Voz complains about the lack of control that exists on the beaches of Papagayo over the practice of nudism in areas that are not authorized for it. In this sense, she points out that it should be regulated and that it even has to be sanctioned and controlled so that nudism is only carried out in the areas established for this purpose. According to this reader, she can no longer go to any Papagayo beach with her son "due to the lack of control of nudism" in non-nudist areas.
"It is an outrage the overflow of men and women, mostly English women who are not intimidated even by young children", says this reader. For this woman, who has lived on the island all her life, "it is a disgrace". Thus, she reiterates that "both in summer and in winter, I cannot enjoy the beaches of Papagayo with my children. They are so famous and they do nothing about it". She adds that "we all have the right to enjoy the beaches of our islands".
