A resident of Tahíche has contacted La Voz to complain about the delays that are being recorded in the buses that go from Arrecife to the north of the island, as a result of the works that are being carried out on the Tahíche road. Facts that the Teguise City Council has confirmed to be aware of, assuring that it has already contacted the company.
"It's a disgrace," said a passenger, who reported that this Monday morning the bus left "an hour later" than its schedule.
"Let's see, they are paving the road, but there are more places to go to the north," said this neighbor. "It's not just for me, because I'm young, but for the elderly," added this man, who considers it "an outrage" that people were "dumped" for an hour.
In addition, apart from that, this public transport user also criticizes the "lack of cleanliness" of the buses. "They leave a lot to be desired. I don't know how they are cleaned, or how often they are cleaned, but there are always papers on the floor," he said, also pointing out that "where the hand luggage is left, it's disgusting."
On behalf of the City Council, it was the Councilor for Roads and Works of Teguise, Eugenio Robayna, who confirmed to La Voz that he was aware of what happened with the bus service this Monday, stating that his colleague and Councilor for Transportation, Antonio Callero, had already contacted the company.
Likewise, with respect to the traffic cuts, he explained that it is true that the road is closed between 07:00 and 19:00 hours, although he stated that it is possible to enter and leave Tahíche. However, he urged those residents who "have problems" to contact the City Council.
