The sweet potato team managed to tie in extremis away against Rodríguez Cleba in a match in which the locals had a lead of up to 9 goals. Without a doubt, it is a match that had a lot of tension in the final minutes and in which Patro Barambio's players were trailing.

The 5:1 defensive formation arranged by Patro Barambio made the local attack difficult, at least in static possessions. But it didn't put them in too much trouble as the 3:3 of the León team did, which forced the red and blacks to move the ball quickly with countless displacements away from the goal and crosses between the players to find the gap.

Shortly after the first ten minutes of the match, Marta Cuenca scored on a counterattack, after a good recovery, to leave the score at 6-5. But the sensations foreshadowed that the match was on the local side, being too cumbersome for the red and blacks, who were not comfortable.

Only five minutes later, the disadvantage increased to four goals (10-6). The visitors sought to escape the advanced defense with individual plays, with little play without the ball, giving facilities to a Rodríguez Cleba who was not forced to back down with too much intensity.

It was difficult to compete with the locals who, during the first part of the match, proved to be a fairly complete team. The good defensive work was added to a great performance with the ball.

The possessions of the León team were very short. They only needed very vertical and high-speed attacks with which they easily reached the opposite area. In addition, Rodríguez Cleba proved to control several resources, being able to find the goal also with outside shots, on the counterattack and on the counterattack.

CB Zonzamas also struggled with the 6:0 with which the locals organized themselves at times. The sweet potato players did not clearly see the attack, missing up to eight shots during the first thirty minutes, while unforced errors reached a dozen. The first half closed with a 20-15 that could have been much worse if we take into account that the red and white cushion reached seven goals.

The second half started badly for CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote, with Barambio having to stop the match only three minutes after the restart of the match, as the disadvantage on the scoreboard returned to six goals for Rodríguez Cleba, who shortly after would manage to put more land in between with a 26-17 after five minutes of this new time.

But the red and blacks did not give up. They improved the actions in defense, with a block that closed the gaps in the central zone and forced the León team to try their luck from the outside where Susi Sánchez was more than solid.

The tireless Brenda Roger and Gleinys Reyes carried the weight of the attack, doing damage between the lines to reduce the advantage on the scoreboard, forcing the local team to call a time-out when they saw that CB Zonzamas was approaching dangerously on a scoreboard that they only controlled by three goals.

The match left a nice duel in the final ten minutes. Cuenca recovered a providential ball again to transform herself on the counterattack and leave the score at 30-29. After that, a spectacular feint by Mary Sánchez to tie the score at 32.

Final minutes of full equality with Caridad Santana tying the match again with a nice lob after winning a rebound in six meters. That's when Susi Sánchez appeared with three very important saves, the last of them 26 seconds from the end, with the score tied at 34. The scoreboard would no longer move as the sweet potato players were unable to find the shot with the only eight seconds remaining in the match.

Tough match but it was worth it to show that CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote also knows how to solve the thorny matches and with the score against them. A new point that is added to the classification box to continue with the good dynamics before receiving Uneatlantico Pereda at home, the next rival to beat.
