Yeray assured that the experience began to "go well" from the first day, and in training they were "very serious". "The Fabia S2000 is the best car I have had in my hands so far. We had some problems due to my mistakes, such as the puncture and some spins, but the important thing is that the assessment is highly positive and I hope to continue working with Volkswagen, but I know it is very difficult. This is the best thing that has happened to me in my sports career and one of the best things that have happened in the history of Canarian motorsport. The result has left us all happy and staying in the spotlight of Volkswagen Motorsport is very important for us. That is why we hope for a new opportunity, which is what we all want," he confided.
Regarding the language that Yeray should learn, the driver pointed out that "from now until next year" he will work on English. "I promise that at the beginning of the year I am going to study it," he said. Asked about Ford's possible interest in testing a Fiesta S2000, the Lanzarote driver said that he "has not received" any offers. "What was heard in Catalonia was that they wanted to leave me Roberto Méndez's S2000 for the Madrid Rally, but for the moment no one has contacted me. Now, I only have one objective set, to be in the 2013 World Championship with the Volkswagen Motorsport team," he clarified.
