CD Unión Sur Yaiza drew with Club Portugalete (1-1) in the first leg of the third and final round for promotion to the Second Football Federation, played this Sunday at the Municipal Stadium of Yaiza, in Lanzarote.
The match, played at a great pace, was vibrant and full of chances in both goals, with two ambitious teams that held nothing back for the return match.
The first goal of the match came in the 10th minute when Matías Cedrés, at the far post, finished off a cross from Moha at mid-height to which Emiliano Trovento had not arrived in the center of the area.
With the score against them, Portugalete took the initiative of the game and began to arrive with great danger, especially in set-piece actions, but did not have aim in their shots.
In the 40th minute, the local Emiliano Trovento shot with his right foot from the edge of the area and the ball crashed into the crossbar.
After the break, the match followed the same dynamic, with arrivals from the Basque team, who could have incredibly tied in the 61st minute, with a free kick taken by their goalkeeper, Ibon González, from more than 60 meters, and the ball, helped by the wind, hit the crossbar of the goal defended by the young Sione.
Three minutes later, Moha could have scored the second goal for the Lanzarote team with a volley with his right leg at the penalty spot that was rejected by the visiting goalkeeper.
In the following action, Portugalete tied the match after an entry by Badiola along the baseline and a pass back that Aitor Villar finished off low.
The return match will be played next Sunday at the La Florida field in Portugalete, with natural grass, starting at 11:00 a.m. (Canary Islands time).
