UD Lanzarote received UD Las Zocas on Sunday morning with the imperative need to conquer the three points that were at stake. It was not a good match offered by the two teams, although the most positive thing was that the rojillo team won by the minimum to return to the path of victory.
The first minutes of the match were marked by the fight in the wide area of the field. The two teams approached with shots from medium distance that did not generate much danger. Ayoze tried with a shot that was repelled by the fists of the visiting goalkeeper and shortly after Dani González's shot went over the crossbar.
UD Lanzarote took the lead on the scoreboard at the edge of halftime and in a set-piece action. Alyson was in charge of executing a free kick from the right vertex of the area, the goalkeeper Oval had to intervene and the ball fell at the feet of Matheus who scored from the small area.
In the second half, the game developed by the teams was less showy.
UD Lanzarote continued to try through the game on the wings, with constant forays by Alyson and Adrián Machín. Forward Rubo did not receive balls and delayed his position to help the center of the field.
The match opened up in the final minutes, with UD Las Zocas going in search of the equalizing goal and spaces that UD Lanzarote took advantage of to get closer to the goal defended by Oval based on counterattacks. Alyson had two good chances in these final minutes to close the match, running into Oval's good interventions.
Minimum victory for UD Lanzarote against UD Las Zocas, breaking a streak of six games without knowing victory. The triumph places the rojillo team in sixth place in the standings with 17 points and next week they will travel to Tenerife to face CD Vera.
