UD Lanzarote Secures Victory Against Villa Santa Brígida (1-2)

UD Lanzarote visited the always complicated Municipal de Los Olivos on Saturday afternoon, facing a Villa de Santa Brígida that was looking for its first victory of the season. In a rather difficult match, UD Lanzarote knew how to take advantage of the opportunities it had to add the second consecutive victory of the season. Rubo from the penalty spot and Juanito were the authors of the goals for the red team.

The match began with a clear chance for UD Lanzarote when barely three minutes of play had elapsed. Alyson stole a ball in the vicinity of the area, passed to Miguel Gómez and the shot was saved without too many problems by goalkeeper David Ramírez. From this moment on, the rojillos had to put on their work clothes to try to counteract a rival that was looking to take control of the game.

The first warning from Villa de Santa Brígida came in the 19th minute. Santi was in charge of executing a free kick from the edge of the area, Ruymán repelled the shot and Brian “Cebolla” picked up the rebound, but his shot did not find the three posts. After the first half hour, Peri put a ball behind the defense, Brian elevated the shot in front of the goalkeeper and the ball ended up crashing into the post.

UD Lanzarote's response came in the form of a counterattack, with Rubo putting a ball into the area for Alyson to arrive and the Brazilian was knocked down when he was trying to get past two defenders. The penalty was executed by Rubo and the striker was in charge of establishing the 0-1 with which the break was reached.

The second half began with a scare for UD Lanzarote, with a shot from Suso Medina when the first minute of play had not been completed and Ruymán once again responded to send it to a corner kick. Like the first half, the match was being difficult, with many inaccuracies in the actions of the two teams.

In another counterattack in the 74th minute, UD Lanzarote practically sealed the match. Alyson put a ball behind the defense, Juanito stood alone before the goalkeeper and in the one-on-one with David Ramírez he had enough tranquility to send the ball into the back of the net.

Shortly after, UD Lanzarote was left with one less player on the field, with Thioub being sent off with a double yellow card and the rojillos having to play in numerical inferiority in the final minutes. And when five minutes had passed over the regulation time, Rodrigo committed a penalty on Anthony. The penalty was executed by Santi, Ruymán guessed the trajectory of the shot and Santi finished off the rebound into the net again.

Triumph by 1 to 2 of UD Lanzarote against Villa de Santa Brígida, the second consecutive victory of the rojillo team and which helps them to continue climbing positions in the classification. The next rival of UD Lanzarote will be CD Santa Úrsula.
