UD Lanzarote has condemned the events that occurred last Saturday, January 27, at the conclusion of the match against CD Teguise, corresponding to the Las Palmas Interinsular Youth League. At the end of the match, a huge brawl formed on the field, leaving an embarrassing image for all those present and in which we must all fight to eradicate violence and behaviors that do not help sportsmanship.

In this sense, UD Lanzarote is collecting all the information on what happened last Saturday at the Municipal de Los Molinos de Teguise, and is studying the measures it will take to punish the players of the rojillo team who were involved in the embarrassing incidents that occurred at the end of the match.

At the same time, UD Lanzarote regrets that the referee's report does not reflect everything that happened and those actions that during the match were heating the spirits of those present. Unfortunately, the attitude of the local coach is not reflected, with personal insults or disqualifications towards players, coaches and the rival club throughout the match, and even spitting at the end of the match.

We must also reject the provocative and defiant attitudes before, during and after the match of people who are part of this sport. Attitudes that do not help at all to eradicate violence from the playing fields, but quite the opposite, encourage heating the spirits among those present.

UD Lanzarote requested permission from CD Teguise to record last Saturday's match, a circumstance that was rejected by the local club. Although this is a fact that does not explain what happened, it would have served at this time to know for sure what happened and to be able to determine responsibilities.

Given these events, UD Lanzarote requests the Competition Committee of the Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas to act accordingly and punish the events that occurred. We must not be participants in violent attitudes and we must all fight to eradicate this type of situation, which only tarnish sport in general and football in particular.
