A new season in the Canarian group of the Third Division kicks off on August 20. Eleven days before the start of the campaign, the sports management of UD Lanzarote closes the preparation of the squad of the first red-and-yellow team. The signing of midfielder Enrique Castaño, a player who was in the ranks of UD Las Palmas Atlético last season, closes the UD Lanzarote squad for the 2017/2018 season.
Enrique Castaño Cervera, born on January 23, 1993, is a player who occupies the position of midfielder and who stands out for being in charge of leading the game in the center of the team's field. The player from Gran Canaria had several offers, finally opting for the offer from UD Lanzarote to be part of the team.
Castaño trained in the lower categories of AD Huracán. In the cadet category, he joined the Real Madrid subsidiary chain, spending five seasons in the Madrid team to complete his training. In the 2012/2013 season, he signed for AD Alcorcón "B", entering the dynamics of the first team in the second part of the season and playing two matches with the Alfarero team in the Second Division "A".
In the 2013/2014 season, he returned to the Canary Islands to sign for UD Las Palmas Atlético, playing two seasons in the Second Division "B" with the yellow subsidiary. In the 2015/2016 campaign, he joined the ranks of Mérida AD, also in the bronze division of Spanish football, and last season he returned to UD Las Palmas Atlético, a team with which he achieved promotion to the Second Division "B".
The new UD Lanzarote player joined the team's training session on Tuesday afternoon and placed himself under the orders of Maxi Barrera. Enrique Castaño could have his first minutes of play in the Juan Morales Cáceres Memorial, a tournament that kicks off on Thursday night and where UD Lanzarote will play the second semi-final against Haría CF on Friday.
