U.D. Lanzarote also loses the goalkeeper, doctor, and physiotherapist

The crisis of U.D. Lanzarote continues to worsen with the passage of time, and on this occasion three casualties have come together, with the departure of goalkeeper Alfonso Marino Bacallado, doctor Antonio Zoido and physiotherapist Piti Reyes.

Marino Bacallado leaves the club after a long career of twelve seasons, wearing the captain's armband in many matches and being an undisputed starter in the lineups. The critical economic situation that the club is going through at the moment has already caused the departure of several players (including the past coach), dangerously approaching the loss of the category, in case the exodus of players continues. Marino, like others, had already requested his discharge alleging the poor economic conditions of the club, which has finally been granted by the board, which has wished him in a statement "the best of luck in his immediate future".

Incompatible schedules

Regarding the departure of physiotherapist Piti Reyes, the club has justified his departure due to an incompatibility of schedules, because U.D. Lanzarote has moved its schedules to the afternoon (still to be specified by the Insular Sports Service) coinciding with Reyes's consultation. The same case as the departure of doctor Antonio Zoido, who also leaves the club due to schedule incompatibility despite the fact that, according to the entity, "they will continue to collaborate with the club." Precisely Zoido had already had schedule matching problems previously, as he is the official doctor of the Ericcson Team, which is currently participating in the Volvo Ocean Race.
