The Inter-Island Football Federation of Las Palmas presented on Saturday morning the champion and runner-up trophies of the past season, an event that honors the best teams of the past season. An event exclusively aimed at the youngest, who were undoubtedly the ones who enjoyed the most when collecting the trophies that accredit them as champions or runners-up of the past season. Throughout the awards ceremony, several distinctions were made to managers, coaches, players, referees and clubs, for the work they have been doing for several seasons on the island of Lanzarote.

The awards ceremony for the 2012-2013 season was held at the Arrecife Civic Center, a venue that would be too small for the large number of players, coaches and monitors who attended the event. Many parents had to stay outside the venue, allowing the youngest to enjoy the event. An awards ceremony with which it was intended to pay tribute to the champion and runner-up teams of all categories of soccer and base soccer of the past season.

The event was presided over by Antonio Suárez, president of the Inter-Island Football Federation of Las Palmas, who was accompanied by José Antonio Valido, Island Delegate of Football of Lanzarote. In addition, most of the Board of Directors of the Inter-Island Federation of Las Palmas attended, as well as Esteban Hernández and Gerardo Hernández, representing the Technical Committee of Referees. Among the authorities present, it is worth mentioning the presence of Francisca Toledo and Rafael Tavío, councilors of Sports of the City Councils of Arrecife and Yaiza, respectively.

The representatives of the champion and runner-up teams of the past season went up on stage at the Arrecife Civic Center and received the trophies that accredited such achievement. The faces of the youngest lit up when receiving the trophy, remembering the great effort they had to make last season to achieve such success. Orientación Marítima, UD Lanzarote, Villa de T in the futsal modality, were the most awarded teams of the morning.

The Inter-Island Football Federation of Las Palmas also wanted to distinguish a series of people and clubs that have done or are doing a great job in the world of soccer and futsal. In the refereeing group, Blas Díaz Martín was awarded and in the coaching group, Pepe Corujo received the award. Two distinctions were also given to former soccer players, such as Marcos Machín and Miguel Ángel Aparicio, players who had a very prominent role and who represented Lanzarote soccer. The managerial work of Juana María Zerpa, president of Santa María La Vega, was also valued. And at club level, Orientación Marítima and CD Lomo received a distinction for their youth work and the training of players from the lower categories.

The attendees of the event also participated in a raffle of several official balls signed by Vicente del Bosque and two Spain jerseys signed by the national coach.
